Fire Walk With Me
I have access to the elusive Twin Peak season 2 but I'm not sure if I want to watch it. Season 1 was so so good, it can only go downhill, surely?
Anyway, here are some behind the scenes images that are pretty nice.

I give a Special Agent Dale Cooper style thumbs up to that lot.

Holmesbot 5000
Nicknamed 'The binary sleuth' or the 'digi-detective', Holmesbot was designed and built in 1973 with the aim of eradicating crime by the year 2000. His nemesis is a corrupted router known only as iMoriarty.
Of an evening Holmesbot likes to relax by playing his violin and de-fragging his hard drive.

Robert Wyatt
I am listening to a lot of Robert Wyatt at the moment. I think his voice is suitably autumnal.
Formerly the drum hitter of Soft Machine, Robert drunkenly fell from a third-floor window at a party on 1st June 1973. He broke his back in the fall and has been confined to a wheelchair ever since.
The fall however did force him to move away form drumming and allowed his amazing voice and solo career to flourish.
His superior cover of Costello's Shipbuilding is one of my favourite songs of all time.
And as is usual for a man of his talents, he has a whole host of famous friends and admirers.
If you're really really interested in Mr Wyatt, here is an hour and an half Q&A recorded at the time of the release of his brilliant concept album Comic Opera.

What is Brazil?
Nice doco with interviews from the cast and crew of one of my top-5 all time favourite films - some insightful, some not so.
And another from 1988 courtesy of the Beeb.

Alley Cats
Anyone who knows me will know that I think Hot Chip are the best band in the world (prove me wrong). So I am understandably pretty excited about their new album, One Life Stand, which is out on 9th February 2010 - a date which still seems impossibly futuristic.
Currently, I am using every connection I have (the best being my DSL connection) to get my hands on a promo copy of the new album, but until I do I have been keeping the wolf from the door, so to speak, with the following two tracks from the album.
While 'Take It In' has been splashed over all the blogs like cum over a hookers face, I don't think too many people have heard this live version of 'Alley Cats'. Here's what the little man with the big voice Alexis Taylor had to say about it in an interview with music snobs at Pitchfork.
'Joe's the main singer on that one...it seems to partly be about his mother and wishing that she was alive to hear this song that he's singing. And I think Joe's words in the chorus relate to when you're feeling something that you really love is coming to an end, and saying that's not really possible. In terms of the music, I think Joe was quite influenced by a song that we both really like, That’s Us/Wild Combination, by Arthur Russell. But the eventual finished version developed into something a bit more Fleetwood Mac-y. For my part on that song, I was thinking about myself and my own cat and the mood he brings to my wife and I.'
Of the 1600-ish views on this video I reckon about half are mine.
I also heard the finished version of ‘I Feel Better’, the first single from the new album, at Joe Goddard's Harvest Festival album launch party on Wednesday, and it sounds great! It’s a huge euro-pop anthem that sounds like it should be on a NOW! comp. (in a good way), and it climaxes with steal drums. So good!
That's all the Hot Chip news for now. 2010 is going to be a very good year.

At The Drive-In
More from the 1950s. Not dating this time, but adverts.
Here are a trio of compilations that I cut together from genuine drive-in movie adverts. Count down the 5 minutes until intermission ends...

Dating
I just finished another 50s teen video for Platform.
I found a load more adverts from drive-in movies so a new series of these videos is in the pipeline. Calling it At The Drive In for obvious reasons.

Steve
The best thing to come out of Bromley since.... well ever.
Last week I traveled over to Bromley to interview Steve for Platform, and I met his mum.
